Ping Pong Pig (2009) - Plot & Excerpts

I love Caroline Jayne Church. Her illustrations are cute without being overly cutesy. In this story, a pig desperately wants to fly so he spends all of his time practicing. His friends try to tell him pigs can't fly, but Ping Pong doesn't listen. The story resolves itself in a delightful manner...although it did leave me wondering what Ping Pong was going to do next. I can't wait to try it out in storytime soon... Ping Pong Pig spends his days dreaming he can fly, rather than helping the other animals work on the farm. When his constant flying practice disrupts the farm, the animals gather together and provide Ping Pong with a trampoline in an attempt to keep him out of their way. Ping Pong is appreciative and decides to give back...and ends up making quite a "splash"!Sweet, lighthearted and fun, this is a nice follow-up to _Little Apple Goat_.
