Plantador De Iglesias: El Hombre, El Mensaje, La Mision (2013) - Plot & Excerpts

Quite possibly one of the best books I have read in regards to the subject of Church Planting. For those of you who are seeking to plant churches, or are simply wanting to know more about the subject of mission, this is the book for you. Though it can at times be a daunting task to work your way through the chapters, Darrin Patrick does an incredible job going through scripture as well as utilizing some of his own experiences as a church planter to help bring to light some very important issues in our western culture.I think for myself the best parts were the chapters on manhood as well as the chapters on what a church looks like in scripture and missional contextualization. These chapters were very convicting in terms of my own journey working as a missions worker with university students, but also as someone who has been trying to better understand how we do church and we may better reach a post-modern western culture. Much of what Darrin Patrick had to share from his own life resonated a great deal with my own and got me really thinking about my own call to ministry and where I feel God has been leading me. It took me a great deal of time to get through this book, but it is very likely I will be going through it again so as to remind myself of some things that are worth being reminded of.A brilliant read. "Church Planter" by Darrin Patrick is a great book for anyone who longs for more out of life and ministry. This book is incredibly comprehensive and very challenging. As others have stated, the title and cover art are misleading, this book has very little to do with actual church planting; rather, it would be more accurately portrayed as a comprehensive and in depth, step by step rendering of the office of pastor. Having said all of this, the book is very well written. Patrick is very detailed, bold, and thorough never leaving any questions unanswered or any rock unturned. Besides "Victory Over the Darkness" by Neil Anderson, this book packs more information, content, and gut wrenching truth in a shorter amount of pages than any book that I've read.If you are a pastor and you do choose to read this book, make sure that you are at a point in your ministry where you're ready to rethink anything and everything that you think to be true about your identity as a pastor and how that translates into your message and mission. I really want to emphasize that this book is not for the faint of heart or the pastor who is in ministry because they have nothing else to do. This is for the called man who desires for his life to mean something, and for his church to go wherever God wants it to go. Simply, be prepared to be challenged, pushed, convicted, and made utterly uncomfortable. Make sure to have a pen and notebook handy!

What do You think about Plantador De Iglesias: El Hombre, El Mensaje, La Mision (2013)?

Fairly predictable read but carries a challenge especially the last few chapters.
