Prospero Lost (2009) - Plot & Excerpts

This was my first fantasy book I've read in a long, long time. With that being said, I thought this book was just O.K. I read it fast and easily enough; it had the Old World type of conversation that I enjoyed; an intellectual voice to it.Although, I did find it displeasing to note that the author unceremoniously thought the reader would simply indulge in her fanciful world without any foundation of what it stood for. Overall, though I thought it was an intriguing book and decided to read further into it.I also found that the books tempo was slightly lagging and therefore-at points-painfully slow. But this is understandable being the first book with two more to go. I loved, loved, loved this book. I had been so eagerly awaiting Jagi's first novel, and when it came out I said to myself "please let this be awesome!". Jagi did not disappoint. This is a beautifully written story about the family of Prospero, set in the present day, where the Shakespearean mythology, modern technology and wondrous magic all blend together seamlessly. And there are two MORE books in the series for me to read!
