Only the endless rows of pillars marched in every direction, like stone sentries marking a prison.She raised her head, knowing whom she would see before she saw him.Rama sat before her, upon the sunwood throne. He was Rama and yet he was not her Rama. She knew this from a single glance, from the way he sat, legs flung apart insolently, goblet in his careless hand, head bearing the ornate, gleaming crown lowered, eyes dark and gleaming, lupine, boring into her.
