Raven Queen's Story and Apple White's Story are exactly the same as the first two chapters of the Every After High novel that Shannon Hale published in October 2013. They are like the teaser book trailers to the book itself so it didn't really help that I read them after I was halfway through Ever After High. The story is kind of cute and geared towards elementary school kids. I think middle and high school girls would find it too young. The whole concept is exactly the same as Monster High. They are both created by Mattel. I had every intention of loving this book, Shannon Hale fan that I am. Maybe if I had read it it when I was eight years old I would have loved it. It was painful!! The name "Ever After High" should have been my first clue. It felt younger than high school, and sillier. Shannon hale created a fairy tale high school for all of the fairy tale characters in stories, so they had their own names for everything--mirrorpad, etc. I can't think of too many more because I thought they were dumb. Plus she kept using words like "hexcellent" instead of "excellent) and "fairy" in stead of the word "very". Ugh. I waded through it, hoping it would have a great moment. It never happened. In my opinion, it was a "fairy" big disappointment.
What do You think about Raven Queen's Story (2013)?
It was free on my kindle, so I bought it. It was okay and I liked the twist of the fairytales.
