Judging from the deep darkness surrounding him, it had to be well past midnight. At some point in their frenzy they’d both passed out. A glance at the bed next to him found Harper sound asleep. Good. She’d tried to hide the dark circles under her eyes with makeup, but she should have known by now there was nothing she could hide from him. Without him around these last several weeks she’d not taken care of herself and that pissed him off. Something needed to change. She was definitely right about that. He moved slowly from the bed, so as not to wake her. Her black hair fanned across his pillow and the almost white glow of her pale skin half tempted him to go back to bed so he could take her again. No matter how much time he spent with her he always wanted more. The thought of her leaving him made his chest ache. From the first night he’d seen her at the private Glass Kat club in her adorable little cupcake uniform she’d gotten under his skin. That she’d accepted his Valentine invitation fifteen months ago had been nothing short of a miracle.
