Another good read in this series.I liked this continuation of the Royal series with Max’s story. It was another charming love story that was predictable but still very enjoyable. I liked both Meredith and Max’s characters and how they each had their own issues to overcome to be with each other. For Max it was his aversion to the public eye and for Meredith it was her trust issues around men. I liked how they both grew as the story went on and learnt to change their plans for the future to include each other. Marty was also a great character and having a kid running around made things a bit different from the previous books. I’d recommend this book and the rest of the series if you’re looking for a sweet and charming new adult romance series that is entertaining and easy to read. I found this book disappointing. To be honest, when I read a "chick lit" book like this I want it to be fun and light and mainly happy. But this book just had too many unhappy story events in it for me. The whole book revolved around one big unhappy event. And then when Meredith comes home she does so to even more trouble and darkness. So for me this was not what I wanted to read when I pick up a book like this. I did like the character of Max. He seemed like a good guy, but he was a bit unbelievable. He had always said he doesn't want drama and this and that. And then he hooks up with Meredith who is every single thing he says he doesn't want. He also sometimes seemed a bit too noble to be real. Overall this series started out great, then book two was average, and this, book three, was just a total let down.
Meh. Which is a shame because I was looking forward to this, but it was just so ... meh.
