A hand touched her cheek. “Her fever’s breaking.” Mitch’s voice from far away. “Good. I’ve cleaned the wound. Once she wakes, I’ll give her a shot to combat the infection and make sure she doesn’t have a concussion.” Another male voice. But she didn’t know this one. She opened her eyes. Mitch’s face.
