Los Vegas vampire clan leader Roke is on the hunt for his 'mate's witch Sally and even though the mating was the result of a spell gone awry, the pull that Roke feels for Sally and his bed to protect her feels oh so real. The set up for this pair in the previous book really had me looking forward to how these enemies were going to become lovers and win their HEA. That conflict makes for a good steamy beginning and though once the pair gets together their relationship goes to that I must protect my mate place that doesn't feel that fresh any more, so the story ended up pretty typical for the series, but I still liked it. True to Ivy's formula she sets up the next leading vamp - he had a hard act to follow though and his setup wasn't as grabbing as Roke and Sally's but he may surprise me. Another great book! I love all this series! Alexandra Ivy does it again!I love a strong heroine that can hold her own against a alpha male. I really liked the way Sally has completely turned around from the black magic witch she was in the previous book who supported Gaius and the Dark Lord. I loved their story! Alexandra Ivy also included a lot of my favorite characters in this installment which included my favorite little gargoyle, Levet. An excellent addition to the Guardians of Eternity series, Hunt the Darkness is a fast pace read with lots of action, romance and the right amount of snarkiness that had me laughing out loud at times.I received this book from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.
