Romance: What The Billionaire Wants - Plot & Excerpts
I make a mental note to scratch their name unless we have a hole in the schedule. I’m serving the last few customers and clearing tables when I hear the door open. Though I feel a tiny jolt of excitement, I don’t look up. I want it to be him… but I don’t want it to be him. I’ve been walking on eggshells and jumping at shadows for days. I’ll be damned if I spend one more second waiting for my stranger to appear again. A shadow falls over me as I’m bending down, handing out drinks to a table of five. When I straighten, I have just enough time to stifle the yelp of surprise and to my ire, joy at seeing the tall, darkly dressed man. I manage a smile and open my mouth to say something but nothing comes out; my words are clogged in my throat. What is he doing here? As if I don’t know, a tiny voice sneers and I straighten my shoulders and look up into his face.
