This was a cute book for older children. It had nice artwork. It is about a group of church mice, and how they survive in a church. They clean up the crumbs and the spilt wine, chew off loose threads from the ministers clothes. They fear the Great X, but they have a great exodus when the time comes. The second fear is the time the animals are blessed. If it rains, the blessings take place in the church, which means many cats will be inside the church. The mice have their won church services, and they know all the hymns. My grandchildren might like this book, when we go to see them. After I fed my brood breakfast, I crawled back into my warm bed and curled up to read this book. It only took me an hour (maybe 70 minutes) to finish. It is a cute little tale. So if you see it on the shelf at the library, as I did, and think "Lois Lowry...I like her", as I did, you might also enjoy the 70 minutes or so you take to read it.One surprise for me: there were a couple (religious) swear words which I found inappropriate in a children's book.
What do You think about Sacrées Souris ! (2014)?
Super cute story. Also a good way to learn a bit of traditional vocabulary around a church.
