Good story premise, but the editing and syntax is so bad i can't get past the 25% point. In general, I can overlook some editing issues, particularly with self-published and indie books, because I know how hard it is to catch every little thing. But the problems here are stylistic and widespread. An editor could fix this, but it would require a complete rewrite. Mainly the issues were fragmented sentences, dangling modifiers, and misplaced modifiers. I know this makes me sound like a crazy english teacher, but it was incredibly distracting, and very confusing. It's a shame because it seemed like an interesting story. This is the first book I've read by this author and I have to say she's now on my watch list for romance authors. This book sucked me in right away. The glimpses into the point of view of the antagonist was just enough to keep me on the edge of my seat. I feel silly saying that since this is a romance and we all know that it'll all work out for the best. I have to say that I absolutely loved how the situation with the antagonist was resolved. A lot of times for me when I'm reading a suspense book, I feel the villans are killed in the heat of the resolution and don't get to suffer like they've made the main characters suffer. Ms. Ryan does a great job in making me feel satisfied that the antagonist got what they deserved. In addition to that plot point, I admired the characters. I have to confess at times the characters were rolling along almost too perfectly. You have here in this story at least, a woman on the run. She luckily has an endless supply of money to tap into, which makes going on the run easier. Not to mention the ultimate resolution. However, with that being said, I wouldn't change anything or criticize too much. The whole reason I read books is for that little bit of unreality to have a happy ending. Ms. Ryan does that with her book and I would recommend this as well as her other novels. I know i'll be looking out for her name in future.
What do You think about Saved By The Rancher (2013)?
It was good, but the insta-love was a little too fast for my tastes.
