One of the best recent books I've read in this genre. The hero and heroine first appeared in the previous (first) book in the series and you should definitely read it first to get a fuller appreciation for the players in this story.Especially the heroine and hero are layered and/or hidden in plain sight. How does one manage to live with expectations of others? Can one be true to oneself? What does it take to peel off those layers, to trust another enough to do so?I now must read the next two books in this series after the holidays! If you like Regency house parties with a twist, you won't regret spending a few hours (or days) at this holiday party. I am a sucker for holiday themed regency romances, so i picked this up from the library expecting just some christmas thoughts and mistletoe. I did not expect the twist of the plot, or should i say twists, and some of the best dialogue i've read in a while. For a romance novel, the discussions actual words and conversation shared between characters, this was amazing. THANK you for that. Great Heroine too, great character. There are some racy scenes, but easily skipped over. A keeper.
What do You think about Season For Surrender (2012)?
Great plot but steamier than I prefer.
