I will not write about anything that spoils the story, only a general review of the book and/or series. These books are making me late to work! I've totally embraced the whole "suspended disbelief" thing and have fallen for these people! And THANK YOU for writing female characters who have life and fight and sass and don't just sit back and let their cavemen/warrior/lovers be the only hero's. I love these chicks and Sydney fits right in. These books are fun, sexy, and a wonderful escape. I'm enjoying getting caught up in their world. Book 2 in the series....hmm. Not as good as #1 but not bad. What was good: the magic kind subplot thickens and keeps me interested. The other characters remain strong enough to beg their own stories ( can't wait for book 3 and Ice's story). And Mattias just gets more and more deliciously evil. What was not so good: Caden is a good hero but his struggle to avoid Mating was a little tedious by three quarters into the book. Sydney is a strong female character who is very direct (which I like) but stubborn stubborn stubborn. In some parts of the book she is totally oblivious to the danger she is in and seems surprised to find herself in trouble (cue music for the bad horror movie when the woman runs into the old barn with the chain saw murderer inside). Also, it just occurred to me in this book...Anarki? Really? There wasn't a better name for the evil army? Finally....on the Nook edition, there is no visual break between sections within a chapter so one minute you are reading about a character in a battle and the next line is about another character in a library....can be confusing if you aren't looking for it. Just a pet peeve. In summary....it's a good book to propel the series but I wouldn't pull it out to read again unless I was rereading the whole series.
