Another novel featuring Stone Barrington. There is a ritzy hotel opening in Bel-Air. Stone is part owner of this hotel and is asked to help with the security. Since the U.S. President and the president of Mexico will be attending the opening, there is reason to have max security. In keeping track of international communication, the name of the hotel comes up (nothing else, but it is enough to raise alarms) Eventually enough information is found to suspect that 3 bombs might be in the hotel. It seems in reading that there is never a way to cover all aspects of security. (or perhaps it is that humans are never perfect) This book is a fast read, but compelling. In Severe Clear, Stone Barrington is back in California for the opening of The Arrington, the hotel he built with his late wife, Arrington Barrington. Unfortunately, the name of the hotel is heard on the airwaves in some chatter by El Queda. Why would the hotel be mentioned?Severe Clear is a good summer read. Stone Barrington can always be counted on to juggle a few women, pour down a few Knobs Creeks (both at the same time in this novel!), while still managing to solve a mystery. No disappointment here.
What do You think about Severe Clear (2012)?
Another good one by Stuart Woods. Quick read...finished in half a day.
