The problem is simple: do we want to set out on this Long March of 25,000 li and head north to fight a war of resistance? 4 Perhaps we will need a few more years before we can free ourselves entirely from the shadow of the Cultural Revolution. Then we will be able to perceive clearly the true value of Mao Thought. We look forward to the advent of business people who will apply Mao Thought to the realm of the economy, just as we hope that theoreticians versed in this area will appear.
It is in this spirit that we humbly offer this meager volume to those noble individuals engaged in the commodity economy. We cast forth this brick in the hope that it will elicit comments of jade.
