This adorable book is perfect for the little one who is just learning how to read words. Its about a little girl who plants her kiss in the ground and waits for it to sprout. As she waits, she has mixed emotions on if the kiss will actually sprout. As she is getting restless, her kiss finally sprouts and she "shouts" with joy and brings her friends to come look at her sprouting kiss. It is a simple read for young readers and has a cute story line to the easy read book. I personally enjoyed it very much. This is a great book that incorporates many opportunities for students to get involved with the text. There are a lot of fun sound words that the class can do as a whole group. I would definitely use this book in my own classroom because it is very engaging and as I stated earlier there is a lot to do with the story. In addition, there are not a ton of words on each page so students at this reading level would be able to decipher the words and read the story at an independent level. As a whole, I think it is a very fun book for beginning readers.
