Simon's Cat first started off as a Youtube sensation and this is the fourth book to be released. Flipping through the pages of Simon's Cat vs. the World, it made me think what a great gift this would make to cat or comic lovers. Simon's Cat gets in a lot of messes and I loved all of the hilarious pages throughout this book. The artwork is beautiful and I love the full color of the book, lending itself to create some hilarious moments. This is the type of book that you can just pick up to make you laugh and feel better after a long day.At the end of the book is a section dedicated to showing the reader how to draw Simon's cat and that was a great feature to add to this book. I think this would be a great coffee table book, something for people to look at together and have a laugh at. This is the fourth in the series and sees a change in style. The new version is in colour and has a different format too - and for me sadly I do not think it works as well. I have spent years with cats and Simons cat has over the years captured so many of their mannerisms and character its truly uncanny. This book however is more of set scenes than observations and to me is not as good. Its a fun read but to me its lost its edge.
Single frame comics looking great, but the format is clearly a limitation to Simon.
