Size Matters Not: The Extraordinary Life And Career Of Warwick Davis (2010) - Plot & Excerpts
I didn't know what I was getting when I started reading but this was a very enjoyable read. Warwick Davis leads the reader through his career from his first stint as an Ewok to the Harry Potter series and beyond. Not only was it fun to hear about all the side projects Davis worked on that I had no idea about, but it was also interesting to hear about all the roles he had in movies I knew but didn't know he was in. There's a sign of a good actor. An absolute delight to read. I knew ever since listening to his "Willow" commentary that Warwick is great at storytelling, and his autobiography did not fail to deliver the same endearing mix of entertainment value, genuine down-to-earth quality and thoughtfulness. He never misses a beat with the anecdotes he chooses to share, is screamingly funny, self-deprecating without coming over all fake-humble, and just sounds like an all-around awesome bloke. I laughed lots, and some of the more personal stories had me in tears - often when I read autobiographies I get the feeling that I as a reader am intruding on something too private, but even when he's sharing his grief at the tragedy of losing two children, this was just really honest and real without either dramatising or understating. Just wonderful.
