I selected this book because I am going to Paris soon. Since the Reviews for this book were rather average, I was surprised how much I really enjoyed this book. The storyline sounded pretty typical, but the author took “the girl catches her boyfriend cheating” plot a step further, which added interest and depth to this book.Charlotte decided the best way to get revenge was to start “dating like a man”. So off to Paris she went to try out her new dating philosophy. In her attempt to heal her broken heart, she made many missteps. First of all, she document everything she was doing on a Blog, which is never a good idea. Really, does everyone need to know everything about another person’s sex live? Charlotte was so busy trying to prove no man would ever hurt her again, she was actually hurting herself. While it appeared Charlotte was moving on, within her private thoughts, this girl was still brokenhearted and very confused. Her private emotions were honest and very relevant to the story. Charlotte had quite the variety BFFs. Each so different, these women brought something very special of themselves to their friendship with Charlotte. It was just that Charlotte was so self-absorbed, she was actually pushing her friends and Luc away. Luc is Charlotte’s very sexy neighbor/lover or better known on the Blog, as the “half-naked French man”. In reality, Luc is so much more than the “rebound” man, as he is so kind and giving. I really hope the author will expand on the girlfriends’ romances in future books, as I would like to read more about Lexi and Fiona and their lovers. I totally enjoyed the wonderful descriptions the author provided of Paris and the French culture. Over-all Rating 4.5. DNF at 35%This book is exactly what the title says, "Sleeping with Paris." (Yes, it appears the main character is trying to work her way through every guy in France. ) Charlotte, a woman who just found out her fiance was cheating on her goes to France and starts a blog that encourages women to date like a man. But all I'm getting out of this is how to sleep around with every guy she meets in a bar. The main character has a hot neighbor that of course she has sex with. And then she proceedes to go out and make out with every guy that she meets. I drew the line when she got on a bus filled with a soccer team that she just met (in a bar, shocker!!) to drive an hour away to their hotel. And then once she is in bed with this stranger, she decides that maybe this was a bad idea and calls it off. But gets mad at the guy. What???? Don't act like a slut then. Okay I'm done. No, I don't have a problem with drinking and sex in books, but there is a right way and a wrong way to go about it. And it takes a lot for me to DNF a book.
What do You think about Sleeping With Paris (2013)?
Laugh out loud funny!!! I really enjoyed this book.
