Slim For Life: My Insider Secrets To Simple, Fast, And Lasting Weight Loss (2013) - Plot & Excerpts
I gave this book 3 stars...but here's the catch- if you've read ANYTHING by Jillian, this is nothing new. It feels like all of her other books and self-help info rolled into ONE book. I basically skimmed this book in an hour or so due to this fact of duplication. The other catch is that if you are *already* slim, there is really nothing here that will be news to you or help you, I feel anyway. So again, for me since I am healthy weight and very active, I didn't really get a single new fact or helpful tip out of this book. Not one. However, I still gave it 3 stars, because I realize MOST people picking up this book do probably need the help to slim down and maybe don't know some of the info in here that (I may find basic) may be helpful. I feel like it's a great book if you want to begin a healthy lifestyle change, because pretty much everything you need, step by step, is in here. And very simple and straightforward as well! If you have read other books by Jillian though (OR Bob Harper), this may be a lot of repeat info.Overall I'm glad I got this from the library, and I would definitely recommend the info in the book to friends if they wanted to lose weight and didn't know where to start. But, I'd really love to see her come out with a book that would have more tips or tricks for just maintaining a healthy weight and lifestyle. Just okay. Save for a few new studies, same good info we've all heard before. Presented simply, a good refresher if you're familiar with all the general concepts or perhaps a good intro if you've never paid much attention to how your habits and lifestyle affect your overall health. I was surprised she wasn't more self-promoting, sort of a bonus. I found the point totaling tedious and didn't bother but the info is legit.
