My favorite part of the book was, of course, Sneaky Pie's ability to not only dispense cooking wisdom and general catitude, but also her ability to suggest fare for humans, dogs, cats, rabbits, and even horses. As an avid fan of mysteries in general and Rita Mae Brown's work in particular, I was drawn to this book for some recipes for holiday treats for my boxer nieces, Pug & Bella. I will definitely be making them the "Dog Bait" (a liver treat, discovered by the authors at the Westminster Dog Show) and "Dog Cookies" as an alternative to the girls' much-loved pig's ears (blech). The drawings and humor are worth the read, whether one intends tackling the recipes or not.
