What do You think about Society Girls (2005)?
Chick-lit, mixed with a bit of detective work and adventure story. And all this mainly set in Cornwall with a big extented family (including some pets) are the main protagonists. It is easy to read, but also nothing memorable or even reading again. The story is ok (but you know quite soon who will end up with whom), the writing style is ok as well, but it's missing something special or maybe a certain wit + humour.I also have two other books by this author, one of them about the same family (but with a different sister in the foreground) -> "Playing James". I wouldn't say that I don't wanna read them now - but my expectations aren't too high. The book's title has next to nothing to do with the real story, and I wonder why it's called like that. Also, the cover picture is in no relation at all to the story. Probably only choosen hoping to sell the book better.

Just as Playing James, Mason's first novel featuring the Colshannon family, Society Girls was witty, suspenseful, and filled with just the right amount of romance. This time we are introduced to Clemmie, the older sister of Holly. Clemmie turns out to be just as adorable and entertaining as her sibling and I really enjoyed getting to know the rest of the family better. Originally I took this book from the library as an easy summer read to take on a road trip, but I ended up with the huge desire to know what happens next, both with the the mystery the family has stumbled upon and the love interests evolving. This resulted in a night of binge reading and a very satisfied reader. Society Girls is easy, lighthearted, charming and a great summer read.

Well,, Sarah maybe like the detective story and she also like romance, so she decided to combine both of them. ;)its quite creative.she made us thought that emma's dad was kidnap her, but after i re-think again, maybe its not like that. Because if yes, it would be very simple. And after we all know that her dad wasnt kidnap her and in fact she was running from her fioncee, martin. I thought that finally she would be have a happy ending story with martin, because when sarah try hard to make us think that martin is a very bad guy and wanna do something bad to emma, i think he is sorry because he did something stupid and realize taht he finally love emma. But in fact, yeah..its true that he felt sorry but emma isnt have happy ending story with him, because shes pregnant with the other guy.But i dont like clemmie's character. I dunno that she's a bit dumb or what, but she's like a spoiler girl who being scared of all of things, and its kinda sucks. She also always blame other people, and always do something stupid. But she's funny sometimes. and also her mom is kinda weird. she likes drama very much til she like obsessed about the other people's life, but shes kind obviously.but overall, i like this family! :Dand the ending is so sweet. sam is so sweet!! :Di love the ending! ^^
