Judith took her coffee mug to stand in front of the window beside Angela. “Fireworks all around the lake like that last night, and today it is back to placid.” The sun had just leaped into the sky, making the blue even deeper as it traveled. While the men had picked up most of the debris from their own dock, the beach and lawn needed some more policing, decorated with pieces of red, white, and blue leftovers. Angela would agree in spades. “I never tire of looking out over the lake, the sunrises like this, but all through the day.
