One day in the life of a sous chef, second in command in the kitchen. I enjoyed learning about his work. It is hard work and not one I would want to live. Whenever he went from the first person to the second person I felt a disconnect in the story. I would have rather seen everything through his eyes instead of him trying to have me see it through my eyes as if I were the sous chef. When he told his story I was very interested. I would have given this book four stars easily if it were not told in second-person narrative, it's just not a favorite of mine. Sous Chef is an exhilarating, adrenaline-fueled 24 hour account of the life of a Sous Chef in NYC.This book certainly gave me a greater appreciation for the thought, focus and effort that goes into creating memorable and high end fare. There were so many terms I had to look up as I read along and that is always a plus for me as well.A fun and interesting read!
Short but really entertaining. I kept thinking I need to binge watch Kitchen Nightmares now.

4.25 - I ended up enjoying the story of the kitchen life a lot more than I expected.

Liked it, but would have liked an entire week, not just 24 hours worth.
