Before reading this book, I had never heard of Lauren Scruggs. But I was interested in her story because I enjoy reading about people's life experiences. I really liked the first part of this book because the anticipation was high for me. I knew what was going to happen but I wanted to know details. The book is written between Lauren and her family so each chapter is written by a different person. This was helpful for the times when Lauren is in the hospital but I wish there was more from Lauren. I love how the Scruggs faith shows through. When someone tragic happens they pray and from what I could gather from the book it would seem they really did believe God could heal. For Lauren's story this is good, it reads more like a biography up until this point in her life. I like books like this so I enjoyed it. I rate four stars. Well. I was going to Texas for a visit and wanted a "light" biography. And this gal is from Texas and her life changing event occurred there. I do want to commend this young woman for dealing so courageously and with faith in God's sovereignty with this bizarre tragedy. Admire her family too. Light Christian reading. I would have to guess better and more uplifting than a Christian romance novel for sure. I mean, it is a true story
a little to, religious for my liking
