I loved the first one in this series and Elisabeth Naughton has become a favorite author, but I struggled with this one. I was confused through much of it, and the characters just never made me care about them. They never told each other the truth, and in hiding it from each other, they hid it from me, the reader. And their entire relationship seemed based on sex. It wasn't until the end of the book, when they began to reveal themselves to each other, that I began to care. But by then it was too late. But the writing is good and the story does move quickly, so it was still an okay read. A good second effort in this series that easily stands well on its own. (Although, if you are planning on reading Stolen Fury I'd read that first so the suspense of that book isn't ruined.)I did get frustrated by how the back story of these characters is presented and the jumping around of scenes. I'm not sure how the author could have done it differently and kept the book to a reasonable size but it was a little frustrating. Still a recommended read though.
What do You think about Stolen Heat (2009)?
Second book in the Stolen series. Pete and Kat's story was really good.
