His body slammed against the wall with a lifeless thud, and I cringed, hearing bricks shower down around him. It all happened so fast. I couldn’t process— The dark, hooded form of a man stood over the bed, his shoulders heaving with deep, enraged breaths. I opened my mouth to scream but froze as a surge of foreign outrage pulsed through my body.
