I fought with this review because I wasn't sure on 3 or 4 stars. But I went with 4. I wanted to love this book I really did. I liked Nick in the first one and was hoping he would find someone worthy of him. But Eva is so not that person. She is horribly whiny and runs from almost everything that is put in front of her. the only time she shows any backbone is at the end. someone as strong as the character Nick is suppose to be should find someone who is equally caring enough to stick with him through anything. I am hoping the next one is better. and the author gets back to writing better heroines. Another good entry in Nicola Claire's Sweet Seduction series. This one focuses on Nick (brother to Dominic from book 1) and Eva, who is a country music singer living in Nashville but visiting New Zealand to take care of her dying father. Nick and Eva had a previous one-night stand eight years before the book starts, and both were deeply affected at the time and are still pining for each other even after all these years.Eva has been abused by her cousins since she was young, and Nick (and the hot rush guys from ASI, his investigation agency) are watching out for her to protect her from her cousins and aunt. Her family sucks! Will Eva and Nick get back together? Yes, for now for some hot and heavy sexual tension and sex. Will Eva leave Nashville and return to New Zealand and Nick? That's what the story is basically about.I liked the first book a bit better than this one (and the third one which I finished a day after this one a whole lot better than this one). But it's good to read this one because it introduces a lot of the male and female characters who will make up the series that follows.
What do You think about Sweet Seduction Serenade (2014)?
reminds me of KA but enough of a difference I don't feel I am re-reading
