I really enjoyed this book and characters. The mystery was clearly twisted and not entirely predictable, but only because the writers didn't give you the whole back story at once. If the whole back story was laid out initially then you would have known early on. The story was good, but I could not give it four stars because I felt left out of the loop. Also, the ending was lack luster for me for as outlandish of crimes sceens they investigated, I feel something was missing. I would recommend it and will be reading the second. This novel gives an interesting perspective to the different methods of investigating crimes. I love how the author balances the psychology of a person determined to seek justice with the psychology of what makes a killer (or how much psychology has yet to understand.Reilly Steel is easy to relate to as a strong female still figuring herself out. The detective, Chris Delaney, is sexy intelligent. I'm always impressed when a book can add romantic tension without distracting from the plot. [The author Rebecca Downey also does this well.]I'm looking forward to moving on in the Reilly Steel series.
