4.5 stars. This book was so unexpected for me. I saw the description and the cover and thought ooh this will be hot. And it was, but it was so much more. This is the 9th book in a series, I didn't know that until I was well into it. I hadn't read any of the others but it didn't matter. The story was unique which is hard to do in the vampire genre. The writing was thoughtful and polished. I loved the three main characters and was captivated the entire story. I'm definitely going to check out more from this author. What a treat. I love when that happens!Pepper scale- ghost chili baby...it was smokin hot! Awesome book! To put a description is to give away a very poignant love story but I am a huge fan of Joey W. Hill and this is the absolute best story yet. I was very moved and I love how it challenges peoples idea of love but is a classic love story nonetheless-great!Great!I would have read this in one sitting if I did not have a migraine and work the next day and that said I read 80% of the book while sick and I rushed home to finish it first thing this afternoon.
