3.5 stars from me. This book had elements that should have made it a 5 star read. I loved the sexy vamp cop, the whole Pyte thing was a new take on the vamp genre but the world wasn't explained enough, it just was.Plus the whole Candy & her kids scenario was poorly dealt with, who just shrugs off the things she did to her kids? It was like 'she's a bad mother but that's just the way it is' Also the random flow of scenes from accident with a sex toy, to adopting a kid. Bizarre! If you take editing into account, this probably deserves a 4. More than enough typos and the story was choppy in a few places but you notice I gave this 5 stars. What a fun and heart warming read. I'm always a sucker for a band of misfits that become a family. This author is fairly new to me. The Neighbor From Hell series was a hoot. Although there are dark histories for the cast, this isn't an especially dark book. Truthfully, although the steam was appropriately placed and posted, the story would have been as good with simple insinuations.
