Tasteful Nudes: ...and Other Misguided Attempts At Personal Growth And Validation (2012) - Plot & Excerpts
I saw this book on the "Hello Gigggles" instagram feed, and bought it because I thought the title was entertaining. This book is yet another addition to my growing comedian/memoir collection. Although the book doesn't really break new ground, it was well-written and fun to read. The chapters about his time living at the Chelsea Hotel and a time when he covered a nudist dinner club for a magazine were my favorites. I absolutely loved this book! I'd never heard of Dave Hill before I saw another comedian, Rob Delaney, tweet about this book. I picked it up and had to ration my time spent reading the essays. I could've easily sat down in a few hours and blown through all of them because they were so funny. I read this while riding on the subway and there were many times I silently giggled, I'm sure creeping out my fellow passengers. There were even a couple of times that I think I laughed out loud. Write another book, Dave!

I enjoyed this a lot! I went into it knowing nothing about him and now I want to watch his stand up.
