Ava is in deep water working for a vampire that she feels is playing with her. Peter is mia and carl wants to help and is constantly putting himself in danger. This book was ok im going to be honest and say that I was amlittle bored . There was a lot going on but still Ava hasnt found herself not strong at all . Sad really, it seems like she is weak and vulnerable not the strong character from the first book. I thoroughly enjoyed Thirst (Awakening) and was reluctant to read Taunt for fear it couldn't match up to it's predecessor. I was unexpectedly surprised by not only Claire's continued brilliance but her ability to advance Ava's story to a new level. It is utterly enjoyable to grow and learn with Ava as she goes through this journey to figure out who and what she is. The character structure is phenomenal and Claire's ability to make you feel for all the different characters whether animosity, love, or suspicion is impressive. I find myself loving more than just Ava and intrigued to see how the next book, Tempt, will play out. I love paranormal books, and I have found a new paranormal author, Claire Farrell, who create a world you can't help but want to be engulfed in. Well, done. You all will not be disappointed.
