Dante. Lexi felt heat rise to her cheeks as she gazed in to his deep brown eyes. Ever since he’d first caught her eye, whenever he looked at her, his eyes were predatory. He was confident and casual, but there was a heat in those eyes that made her whole body tremble. It was almost as if he could reach inside of her soul and spark a fire that had died long ago. Tonight, that look was there. Knees trembling, heat pooling in her belly, Lexi tried to mask her desire by taking a deep breath and breaking the intense hold his eyes had on her. “Hello, Lex.” His smile was warm and sexy. “Call me Lexi.” She preferred adding the “i” at the end of her nickname. Other than Lacey saying it, when anyone else called her Lex she felt like the bald-headed villain in Superman and that was definitely not the image she wanted to portray. Lexi’s heart skipped a beat as his deep voice washed over her. She had been avoiding him the entire day, doing her best to focus on her best friend’s wedding. Now, sitting at the table all alone, she left herself wide open for his approach. Truth be told, she had hoped, yet feared he would come to her.
