It's taken me a while to get round to reading book 2 in this series, after enjoying The Heart of Texas last year.I enjoyed catching up with Riley and Jack again, and seeing them adjust to adding Hayley to their family.A fairly quick read, well paced writing that kept me engaged in the story. I didn't find the strife element of this book as consuming as in the first book, it was a nice update to their life. I always enjoy visiting old friends, especially if the first visit was lovely. I wsa a bit afraid of potential drama but was yet again pleasantly surprised when it all came from outside and was actually handled with communication and maturity. I really like dhow both Riley and Jack instantly became fathers without batting an eyelash when Hailey came to their lives. The Campbell-Hayes family is wonderful and it's a jou to see them all grow as individuals and as pairs and/or family.
Better than the first book, maybe because I knew what to expect in terms of soap-opera-ishness xD
