The 39 Clues #10: Into The Gauntlet - Audio (2010) - Plot & Excerpts

Into The GauntletMargaret Peterson HaddixDan, Amy and Nellie get a clue, figure it out and go to a island and all the other groups follow them. They all go in the gauntlet and they make it to the end just to find out that Isabelle Kabra beat them and she forces them to say their ingredients and she makes the master formula. Amy hits her on the head with the jar with the master drink in it it breaks and everyone writes down their ingredients and give them to Amy and Dan and everyone who went in the gauntlet wins 2 million each. This was a weird book. Some parts I did like and some parts I didn't. This is the main reason I rated this book only 3 out of 5 stars. The other reason I didn't like it was because it ended on a cliffhanger. I thought that the cliffhanger was unnecessary and the Margaret Peterson Haddix didn't need to include that. She should have either ended the book right there or explained what happened next. These are the reasons why I gave this book 3 out of 5 stars.I would recommend this book to anyone who has read up to book 8 in the 39 Clues series and who is over 10 years old. If you do not read the other books first, this will make no sense at all. It is a 327 page book which is a descent sized book for middle school. It is a bit hard to understand at times. Someone who doesn't like action or adventure should not read this book because this seems like a kids book but the other groups literally try to kill other groups. These are why you should be at least 10 years old. Younger kids usually tend to lose interest in long and confusing book very easily and I think that they will in this book too. Into the Gauntlet is a book that will captivate the reader’s attention immediately. Not only the book contains an ambiance of adventure, but also blends math and history into the book without boring readers. The tenth book in the 39 clues series, the next to last book, is the best book. If you are reading the series, you should definitely check out this book. If you haven’t started the series, I recommend this series. This series centers around the Cahills, the most powerful family in the world. However, the secret to the power of the family is locked in 39 clues. Grace Cahill the final leader of the Cahills changed her will minutes before she died. In her will, she gave a select group of Cahills a decision, either receiving a million dollars or getting a clue. The first to discover and assemble all clues will become the most powerful person in the world. The series is about the race to hunt down all clues. Tagging with the main characters clue hunters 14 year old Amy and 10 year old Dan traversing the globe for clues, you will be engrossed in this book. If you like entertaining and informative books, you have come to the right book.
