THE APPLE ORCHARDSusan WiggsThis is a wonderful book about unknown family. Tess Delany makes her living returning stolen treasures to their rightful owner. Out of the blue, attorney, Dominic Rossi arrives to tell her the grandfather she never knew is in a coma, and she has been named to inherit half of Belle Vista. Belle Vista is a hundred acre apple orchard in Sonoma. She also has a half sister who is her emotional opposite in disposition.Tess eventually discovers a world of simple pleasures of love, food and family I want to give this a 3 1/2 stars, but since it had some modern immorality in it, it deserves only the 3 from me. I loved the story, the delicious mystery, and especially the hunger and love of family, but for all that, the immorality both past and present nearly ruined it for me, except that it demonstrated how promiscuity nearly ruined many a life. Moral chastity isn't just for the old-fashioned or the religious zealots, it's also for the absolute peace of mind and body it brings to those who honor it between husband and wife! That said, I'm curious about the sequel...Tess's newly discovered sister, Isabel's story!
