Morrigan Blake is going undercover hoping for a big story regarding the Galaxy Brides industry. She's got it all planned out, she's going to go for the next ceremony get her information and get back home with her story. It doesn't quite work out that way for her though. Instead, she's claimed as bride by Prince Ualan and she discovers her ship has left without her. Morrigan isn't one to give in easily though, which tests Ualan's limits sometimes. This makes for a great story as there is a bit of humor tossed in amongst the rest. The Barbarian Prince, Anniversary edition, is a wonderful start to a series. It is the original Dragon Lords book, and introduces you to the world of the Dragon Lords. PIllow has built up quite a unique paranormal world in this series. The dragon shifters and their mating rituals/ceremony are very unique and interesting. The characters are entertaining and the plot thrilling. Morrigan and Ualan have an interesting story, coming together as two strangers whom fate has deemed should be together. Ualan knows what is expected at the ceremony, but Morrigan really does not. As she learns more about not only Ualan but the planet and the way things work, Morrigan falls deeper, though she doesn't know it or admit it to herself. I love that she doesn't simply fall to the whims of Ualan, and I also enjoy the fact that Ualan is very sure that Morrigan will fall to his will at first. It was fun to see Morrigan turn the tables on Ualan with his own planet's laws. They make a wonderful couple and their interactions make a fun yet beautifully sweet story. The series follows the stories of the other Draig Princes and their mates. A big WOW in the category of "alien" romance. Although "alien" may be too misleading of a term since these aliens are definitely humanoid in every respect. The closest comparison would be to Vikings placed in a medieval setting. Of course, these humanoids could only be compared to the best of the best in every physical attribute. This is the first book in the "Dragon Lords" series by Michelle Pillow and is the story of Prince Ualan and his destined bride and mate, Morrigan. Morrigan stole away as a bride on the "Galaxy Brides" ship with the intent of going undercover as a reporter to break the "big story" of the company "Galaxy Brides" and their frequent client the male-dominated world of Quirlixien. However, she gets more than she bargained for and soon finds her escape route cut-off and her destiny bound to the handsome and virile Ualan. How long can she hold out and fight for the destiny and life she has always planned for herself? Will it be too late when she finally discovers the truth of her desires? This is a story of very intense, sexual desires with tension so thick it can only be cut with a very, very sharp knife. There is so much unfulfilled desire throughout most of this story that the sexual frustration is off the charts. It definitely keeps you reading knowing that at some point there has to be an outlet for this much frustration! And you know it's gotta be good! Definitely a series to load into my Nook! :-D
