Hans brought her a light breakfast with toast and blueberry jam accompanied by a sliced apple. He smiled knowingly at her as he began to leave. “Um, where’s Valemon?” Rachel asked the butler. “Oh, he’s stepped out for a bit. Don’t worry, miss, he’ll be back soon. He left me instructions to tend to you in any way you ask,” Hans replied. Rachel felt a bit disappointed. “Oh, well I guess I’m stuck here for a while.” Hans smiled patronizingly and ducked out of the dining room. She really didn’t care for that guy. There was something off about him and she wanted to find out why. She ate her breakfast in peace, the toast helped quell the nausea that suddenly hit her this morning. It must have been a passing thing, she thought. She wasn’t too terribly worried. She finished her food and rose from the table, leaving the dishes for Hans to clean up. She quietly sneaked up to her bedroom to see if she could catch the housekeeping staff as they tidied her suite. She heard some female voices speaking in Norwegian as she slowly cracked open the door.
