4.5 stars. This is a wonderful, erotic and emotional quickie. Jason is a geek who had a single sort-of sexual experience when he was fifteen with a jock at his school, Blake. They were kind of friends but nothing more. Fast forward seven years. Jason is tired of being a virgin, and he arranges a one-night hookup through an agency at a video game expo. Two for the price of one. At the expo he meets the successful baseball player Blake has become. Jason is as smitten as he was before, but… he has a date to go to.Though the plot is not intricate and the twist is easy to see coming, I liked the way the two guys were portrayed. They feel real, their interaction is fluid, and their dynamic interesting and balanced. The story’s emotional in a good way, and it’s easy to relate to two people who have fantasized about each other for a long time and finally get their reward for their patience. The writing’s efficient and to the point, even though there are a couple of slower inner musings that could have been shortened. There are precious few side characters, and they don’t interfere with the story. The plot moves well, probably due to the length of the story. I for one would have liked to have seen maybe an epilogue or something to see how the two men fare in the future. In any case, a good read. Recommended. The Best Ever ( 1Night Stand) by Deanna Wadsworth5 starsThis was a story of two men, unconventional friends in high school reconnected years later by fate and the powers that be (in the form of Madame X's Fantasy Service) to find not just a body for a "1night stand" but true love. What I loved about this book was it was a beautiful story about how just when you've given up thinking you were deserving of love fate steps in and show you you are wrong. I loved the way the author wrote Jason a boy bullied non stop as a teen but he fought back and overcame what the bullies did to him and ended up finding his prince charming. I loved it! This is a definite must read!Adriana D'Apolito complimentary book given for a free review. juliesbookreview.blogspot.com
