She couldn’t wait to get home; she needed to study. Classes had started, and she was trying her hardest to stay on top of them. She had James to thank for that. After he had paid her tuition, he acted like it was no big deal — but once classes had started, he cut down her tasks at work so she had more time to focus on her studies. He was sweet like that, although Sharise knew he would never admit to it. He marched around the office with a perpetual frown of concentration. Sharise sighed; she supposed he had to, being the billionaire poster child of America, and the owner of the single largest corporation in the world. Today Sharise had forgotten to bring any of her materials with her, and so she sat and twiddled her thumbs after finishing her chores for the day. An earlier attempt at conversation had been met with grunts and near silence. She didn’t think much of it, though; James was always like that when he was focused, but he had seemed rather distant the past few days.
