The Bridge From Me To You (2014) - Plot & Excerpts

Colby is a star football player- he can catch anything and will be part of the team that goes State his senior year. He has scouts knocking on his door with scholarships- the thing is he is Done. With. Football. He does not know how to break this to his dad (and frankly, the rest of the town) who relive high school glory days through Colby.Enter Lauren. She could hardly care less about football. She sees Colby as a nice guy and a good friend- football is an afterthought for her. He cannot be happier just spending time away from the pressure of the game and the hopes of his tiny town for a State Championship that rest squarely on his capable shoulders. Amid lots of other crisis this is a story of friends who care about each other. A sweet romance. "He could have sat anywhere that day. But it's like God knew, and he sat him next to me." ~ this.Cute story. Not my favourite Schroeder book. Not sure what exactly it was that I didn't like about this one. It was a cute simple story...maybe too simple? I loved Benny's character the most...especially at the end of the story. He just made me smile. I think overall I felt like there was some weight to the story that was just never explored. I kept expecting for Schroeder to take us somewhere deeper...but it never happened. Still, I enjoy her writing and there were several passages I adored. If you're looking for a great book by Lisa...check out Chasing Brooklyn or Far From You...both were amazing!"If I think too long and too hard about the other options, I start sinking into a pool of despair. It's dark and cold there, and I don't want to drown.""I'm thinking about all the normal things people are doing while Benny's lying in a hospital bed, his future uncertain. They're eating pizza. Watching lame reality shows on television. Griping about too much homework . While thy go on with their lives like nothing in the world is wrong, some people's lives will never be the same. I want to punch something because of the unfairness of it all.""I'm so tired of all the sadness, I want to dump it in the river and watch it float away."

What do You think about The Bridge From Me To You (2014)?
