It hit him square in the knees and sent him flying back against the wall. Then I noticed the blond man running toward me. I sprinted for Dylan, who was still thrashing and crying. The blond man wrapped his hands around my waist and squeezed. I screamed and flailed my arms and legs. Then I clamped my teeth onto his small finger. He screamed, dropped to his knees and released me. I looked at Dylan again and ran toward him. A bright white light flew past my eyes and made a hole in the corner wall. I ducked and looked toward the door, where the bullet had come from.
