The Coldest Girl In Coldtown (2013) - Plot & Excerpts
For me this started off really strong and somewhat fell apart at the end. The concept was interesting initially, I thought the idea of people being infected with the Cold before turning was neat because once bitten there was a possibility that you could be saved, even though it was unlikely. The idea of the Coldtowns was cool too.But then kind of out of nowhere it turned into a vampire romance, which I found disappointing. I'd be interested in reading more of her books though. Loved it. I had fun reading all those vampire novels a few years ago (Sookie Stackhouse, anyone?) but felt well over that craze, except that a trusted friend said this book was great. I couldn't put it down, stayed up way too late reading it, and did that bad thing where I skip ahead because I want to find out what happens so badly I can't just get there at a normal reading pace. Then I went back and read normally through the parts I'd skipped. I really liked the characters, the way Holly Black incorporates the less common gender & sexual orientations as normal aspects of people, and the way Black represents teenagers. And as far as the female characters and the romance, the book felt like a much-needed antidote to the characters and attitudes in Twilight.
What do You think about The Coldest Girl In Coldtown (2013)?
Libro, a mio parere, orribile. La trama è banale, già vista e rivista, e spesso diventa cruento.

God twist on the normal YA vampire novel. Kind of seemed like a mix between vampires and zombies.

I'm not very into vampires at all, but I enjoyed this enough to finish it in one sitting.
