The composer is dead is about a composer that goes through a series of interesting events that leads to an investigation trying to solve his death. The first scene of the book is the composer deciding what instruments are going to play what. A joke is told about a dead composer who is decomposing and before you know it there is an investigator trying to find out who murdered the composer. The investigator goes instrument to instrument asking questions about what happened, when it happened trying to find some answers to solve the mystery. The point of the book is to teach the reader about all the different instruments and people that are involved in an orchestra. I think this book does a great job of educating the reader while still making it exciting and fun! I really liked reading this book and I was surprised that I haven’t read it before. I really enjoyed it, at some parts I was giggling to myself because it was so funny! This would be a great book for a music teacher to teach to young students who are just starting to learn about music. I like big books (and I can not lie ;P) so when I saw this on the shelf at the library I opened it and immediately fell in love. These are the first 2 pages: The composer is dead. "Composer" is a word which here means "a person who sits in a room, muttering and humming and figuring out what notes the orchestra is going to play." This is called composing. But last night, the Composer was not muttering. He was not humming. He was not moving, or even breathing. ~This is called decomposing.And I squealed and laughed like an idiot because things like this amuse me! Lol If the rest of the book was that ridiculous i would've rated it like 10/5 stars but it wasn't, sadly...it kind of got boring after that, honestly. However, I LOVED the pictures! They were superb! I didnt get a chance to listen to the CD that came with it but I'm sure that would've been great as well!
