I'm 45 and find myself struggling with this "cougar" concept. This story was light and entertaining. Three high school friends reunite in their hometown. They are each mid forty and have experienced relationships, jobs, careers, etc. the book was a quick read and easy. I liked how each chapter had a saying by one of the characters. Ex. Men are like shoes. You have to try a few before you find a pair that won't rub you the wrong way. Ex, if you don't live each day like its your last and wake up every morning excited about what you're doing, for God's sake, move on. It's never too late to find your passion. My rating reflects my "chick-lit" scale, one to three stars. The book is about three women coming to terms with life in their forties. It was fairly predictable. The problem with books focusing on three characters is that you rarely really fall for one because the character development is not there. The name is somewhat misleading. Although there is some dating of younger men, the book is really about these ladies dealing with their age. Seems like the title is there to capitalize on a fad. The redeeming factor is the upbeat message for women over forty at the end - garnering it an extra star from me. Otherwise it would have been one star. This author seems talented, but just not sure she gave it her all in this book .
