The Curse Of The Cheese Pyramid (2004) - Plot & Excerpts

This is book 2 in a series of book but our first book to read, we weren't 'lost' (so you don't have to read them in order.) This book is a super cute way of introducing 'History' without really doing it 'in your face' The story line of a family of mice running a newspaper company. Each doing their own things only to have the main guy have to go to Egypt to get a story. He has a very funny adventure on his way there, during his time there and on his trip home. My special needs teen age son giggled throughout this story at the antics of Geronimo Stilton. We'll certainly read more on him. But this story introduces (or reintroduces) readers to the Egyptian pyramids, the various names of the Gods the Egyptians worshiped, the hieroglyphics and things in Egypt.Another good thing about this book (not sure about the others in this series) but this one had illustrations on EVERY page. Helping people like us where I read it outloud to my special needs teen age son. Having the illustrations helped him to follow the story and was able to enjoy a good story!

Hmmm, an entire book filled with not just graphic, but loaded with "MOUSE-ARIFIC" terms throughout. I liked Geronimo's adventures to all of these different places where geography plays a big role throughout the series. For each place Geronimo visits, you learn about the culture and history. For example, in The Curse of the Cheese Pyramid, we learn about famous architects and the seven wonders of the Ancient "MOUSE" World. The text also included different graphics as well, which I can see would continue to grab the reader's attention. If you do not mind the over abundant "mouse" terms and references, then you would enjoy reading this series. In addition to reading it as a read aloud. Also, there could be many social studies links which you could easily pull out to use.

I love Geronimo Stilson

Geronimo Stilton The Curse of the Cheese Pyramid is the second book in the Geronimo Stilton series. This book takes Geronimo to Egypt to interview a professor who a famouse archaeologist who figured out a new way to create energy. Geronimo flies there, though not first class, and at every turn things tend to go wrong. So excited to be in Egypt but not for the reasons why he is there or the way he got there. Will he be able to get the story and get out of Egypt alive?I loved this book as well. Geronimo's plane ride was so funny, you could really feel his fear in this one. Still written in the same typical Geronimo Stilton style the book creates adventure and mystery at every turn.

RODENTS OF THE LOST ARK! Yeah right. A once promising series gets a bit much. This one has Geronimo Stilton, mouse reporter, left with a grampa that wants the local newspaper downsized in troubled economic times. (Yeah, that ol' Sargento stuff gets expensive too!) To make up for it to his mousebrained grandson, Gramps is sending Geronimo to Egypt to interview a ratty scientist (Yes, kids, he is RATTY in every aspect!) but poor Gerry has to board a lousy flight which almost costs his tail dearly! Than the hapless wondermouse gets trapped in a tomb....where NO MOUSE GETS OUT ALIVE!!! And the good Doctor has amnesia from a bump on the noggin! Finally G. gets home to a paper in crisis, and his grampa wants to bring the typewriter back! WHAT!!! WTH does Mr. Stilt-head have against typewriters? Do all mousekind have to subsist on modern technology like everyone is forced to? This series sucks cheese whiz!
