I'm not sure how to review this book. I read BDSM books all the time but this one left me feeling uncomfortable. The story of being forced to be Gage's sex slave so he won't turn her into the police and her daughter can get the treatment she needs just didn't sit well. If we were meant to fall for Gage and his dominant character, it was a major failure. There was not a single redeeming feature about him that made him slightly likeable. Yes, Kayla kind of eventually submits but the way it was done didn't work for me. I have read other stories of forced submission where the story is stronger and the methods used made the story hot and sexy. I didn't get that here. Gage blackmails Kayla into being his sex slave by threatening to send her to jail for embezzling $$$ from the company to help her critically ill daughter. Gage is a sadistic master. His humiliation of Kayla doesn't just happen in his dungeon, it happens at work, which really skeeved me out. Yet Kayla thinks she is stuck with the deal she's made with him. Things get complicated with the arrival of an old lover, Ian. I wasn't thrilled with many aspects of this story. There was very little "aftercare" in these novellas. Gage was not an appealing hero for me.Yet there was something that kept me turning the pages of these three novellas, hence the rating of 3 stars. Arc provided by author in exchange for an honest review.
