The Fallen Star (2011) - Plot & Excerpts

I finished the book, but unfortunately struggled to do so. I think there could be a great story behind this, but the execution was a little rough for me to take. This really could have used with a complete edit- plot adjustment, spelling and typo errors and the removal of about 173,828 "heck"s. Get a different non-swear word if you don't want to swear in the book. Or, don't have them say it sooooo much. I'm on the fence about this book. I sort of liked it but also didn't like it. The story is a girl with no emotions starts to feel them and then meets a boy who fills her with electricity. She finds out the power from a fallen star was put inside her and the prophecy states it (she) will bring about the end of the world. She was made emotionless to hold off the prophecy and no one knows why she just started feeling them again. She is drawn to Alex, the boy who gives her electric feelings, but he continues to lie to her and confuse her. She also has visions which she finds out are memories from her past. In them she learns her mother was forced into the Underworld by a man (whom she later finds out is Alex's father, Stephen which was easily guessed) and that the same man is working with the Death Walkers who are out to kill her. Laylen is a former keeper turned vampire who tells her the truth about how Alex is brainwashed by his father. When things aren't adding up to her, she confronts Alex but he fights back. When she reveals her visions, he seems to come to her side but when his father shows up with the Death Walkers, Alex looks to be back with his father and lets him not only remove her memories and feelings but everything which will leave her a husk of a person who doesn't even move or speak but will allow him to keep her power. The ending was a cliff hanger of course which really makes me want to read the next book.

Who doesn't love to have violet eyes. I mean I would love to so fck off if people judge my eyes, rght :p !. The first few pages I was so not interested to continue because it was just plain boring but my gut feeling told me to go on. My gut feeling sure was right because it got interesting and I couldnt put it down especially when Alex was introduced. There are few twist and turn I surely didnt expect them. One thing, they got 'Death Walkers' which is so much alike like Game of Thrones' White Walkers. The ending of the book is so hanging like u just wannna read the second sequel tomorrow because u just wanna know what happen next, gosh. Cant wait to read The Underworld and I heard it is much better than the first one!!

It was good. Didn't really like the ending, so it kind of ruined it for me.
